Hello, I’m Kogure, the representative director of JoyShoes.
As a leading social entrepreneur in Japan, I am passionate about solving global social issues.
While working towards addressing world hunger, I began focusing on the issue of children’s shoes in developing countries.
Wearing shoes is common in advanced nations like ours, but in impoverished regions of Africa, many children live barefoot, facing the risk of injuries and infectious diseases.
JoyShoes aims to address this by creating a mechanism where a portion of the funds from purchasing shoes in Japan and other advanced countries goes towards providing sandals to children in Africa and Southeast Asia.
By incorporating a donation system into the purchase of shoes and spreading products with the JoyShoes tag, we hope to raise awareness for social activities through footwear.
"Joy Shoes" is a non-profit organization newly established by the prominent Asian social activist, Masahisa Kogure, and various supporters active in diverse industries. It is said that there are 300 million children worldwide who cannot afford shoes, leading to injuries and illnesses such as infections due to living barefoot. Through the sale of our products, we aim to provide shoes and sandals to these children, using a portion of the proceeds from the purchases.
